Just a quick comment on a story.

I know you are not supposed to rejoice at someone’s downfall, but I’m not about to spill some wine out of my cup for it either.

I would say, it goes by the old saying “What comes around, goes around”

So what gave me a bit of a lift?

I found out in some cases there actually IS Justice

What am I talking about?

Mike Nifong Bankrupt

You remember the slime that decided to persecute and prosecute the innocent Duke LaCrosse players?

You remember the slime that hid evidence proving the boys were innocent.

Including DNA evidence…

You remember the slime was abusing his position to garner headlines…

For What?

It was an election year, and he wanted to get re-elected.

And God Damnit he was going to convict those boys no matter what the evidence said.

He Lost

As you may know, he lost his law licence.

He lost the protection of not being sued.

He lost his self respect.

He lost his honor.

He lost his reputation.

And now…

Mike Nifong Is Bankrupt

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving person.

Look, when people are in positions of power and have the ability due to their position to affect other people’s lives forever… especially when in an official governmental position, they have a special responsibility.

They should be held to a much higher standard. That means no lying to protect yourself. No cheating or playing games to get the upper hand for friends, family or contributors to your campaign.

It means to ALWAYS act with integrity and remember the job you are there to do. What the position REALLY means.

Anyway, I don’t think the punishment meted out to Nifong is enough yet. I think he deserves to go through more Hell in his life. He should be forced to live the life he was trying to put those boys through. And he should have spent years in jail for corruption and abuse of power… in the very same jail, under the very same circumstances he was trying to get those boys locked up under.

Then justice would truly be served.
